Our Mission

TrendCompare is Pakistan's independent fashion industry data platform. Our editorial mission is to bring transparency to Pakistani fashion retail through original data analysis, investigative reporting, and consumer-focused journalism.

Editorial Independence

TrendCompare is an independent, founder-owned platform. We do not accept payment in exchange for favorable coverage. Brand partnerships (advertising, sponsored content) are clearly disclosed and editorially separated from our reporting.

Our founder and editor-in-chief is Seerat Fatima, based in Karachi. All editorial decisions rest with the editor-in-chief.

Original Reporting Standard

Every news article published on TrendCompare must meet at least one of the following original-reporting criteria:

  • Analysis of TrendCompare's proprietary database (200,000+ products, 270,000+ price history points)
  • First-hand reporting on Pakistani fashion brand activities, launches, or pricing changes
  • Original investigation or fact-checking of public claims by brands or industry sources
  • Founder commentary clearly labeled as op-ed

We do not publish syndicated content, AI-generated articles without editorial review, or aggregated stories without original analysis.

Data Methodology

TrendCompare tracks 22 mainstream Pakistani fashion brands. Our data is collected via:

  • Automated scraping of publicly available brand websites (Shopify, Magento, Salesforce platforms)
  • Hourly price snapshots of in-stock inventory
  • Price history tracking for every product, retained indefinitely
  • No private data, no scraped customer information, no merchant-restricted endpoints

Data accuracy depends on brand websites' published prices. Where brand display prices differ from checkout prices (a known industry practice), we report the listed price and flag the discrepancy in articles.

Fact-Checking Process

Every news article goes through:

  1. Data verification against TrendCompare database
  2. Cross-check with brand official channels (where applicable)
  3. Editor review for accuracy, fairness, and clarity
  4. Source citation in published article (links to brand pages, government data, or TrendCompare data pages)

Conflicts of Interest

TrendCompare offers a B2B SaaS product (Brand Analytics Panel) used by some Pakistani brands. When we publish editorial coverage of a brand that is also a paying customer, the article will carry a disclosure note. Editorial decisions are not influenced by SaaS customer status.

Affiliate relationships: TrendCompare earns commission on some β€œBuy from Brand” click-throughs. This is disclosed in our privacy policy and does not influence article coverage, brand rankings, or featured deals.

Corrections Policy

Errors are corrected promptly. Significant corrections include a transparent note at the top of the affected article. See our corrections policy for details.

Article Sourcing

Sources are cited inline with hyperlinks. We use:

  • Primary sources: Brand websites, official press releases, public regulatory filings
  • TrendCompare data: Linked to relevant data pages (e.g., brand price history)
  • Public records: Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, SECP filings, customs data
  • Direct quotes: Always attributed; off-the-record sources used only when essential
